Certainly the major construction sight of the festival, tonnes of ice are cut into blocks from the Songhua River. Other blocks are made with colored neon lights inside. When this is all put together it makes for a Disney-esque night time winter wonderland.

You definitely want to come in the evening, and preferably eat your dinner first. Ski pants are helpful if you plan to go down the slides. Wear shoes with good traction. Lots of great photo opportunities, the place is so well lit you can shoot without a tripod. It gets cold after a while and there are a number of places you can go for a hot drink or some instant noodles.
